Family Fun Day on Sunday (pt 2)

This is a continuation of the blog before this one.

We took the girls to enjoy their first time at the park. We had such a nice time and I can't wait until we are able to take them back and do it again!

Sick Babies! :-(

My Poor little Girls have had this nasty cold for going on 3 weeks now, and they saw their peditrician right after they first got it, and since it never went away I took them back  again today and low and behold if my poor girls dont both have ear infections! :(

They are each on antibotics, and will stay on them until the meds are gone. Meanwhile, we are using motrin and tylenol to help with the pain of their ears and gums.

The Dr said Emma's ear infection was worse than Molly's. :(

I really hate that. I sure hope they didn't have these ear infections very long, because I feel horrible I didn't take them back sooner.  But really, they get colds so much and everytime I rush them to the Dr they always tell me everything is fine. So, I waited this one out as long as I felt I could...and then of course the time I do wait it out is the very time they should have been seen sooner!

Anyways,

Here is the exciting News...

Emma my little chunk a lunk at 10 and a half months is already
17 pounds and a half ounce!
Such a far stretch from the 2lbs 13oz she was born at! I am so proud of her for getting so big!

Molly is my little skinnie minnie :)
She is 15 pounds 8.5 ounces!

Although she is still smaller than Emma I am very proud of her too! As she has gained over half a pound in 3 weeks!

Love my sweet Angels! Pray they are feeling better soon!

2 Teeth for Emma!

Today, Baby Emma got her 2nd tooth! How funny that her 2nd one pops up exactly one week from the first one! Here is a picture of her tonight. I'm not sure if you can see her 2nd one or not, I can cause I know it's there... but If you look close enough you  should be able to see her 1st one! :)

You may have to click on the picture to enlarge it, but I promise she really does have two teeth! :-D

Finger Foods

We are trying to teach the girls how to pick up foods and feed themselves.  I started out by gradually introducing them to yogurt melts by Gerber. This is the only thing I truly felt comfortable letting them try to eat other than baby foods because they melt in their mouths so easily, Especially when I break the yogurt melts into smaller pieces before placing them in their mouths.

Once I felt like they were able to eat the melts I fed them and not scare me by gagging, I decided to sit them in their highchairs and let them try to eat them by themselves.

Emma, she is my little oinker. If it has to do with food, she will find a way to get it down :) Ha! So needless to say it did not take her very long to catch on to what she was suppose to be doing.

I had the best time watching her swat at each little piece of yogurt melt, while trying to grasp them between her tiny fingers and eventually shove the melts into her mouth. She is my little ham!

Emma picking up her snack like a big girl!

Yep, I know exactly how to do this!

Ha! Got it! :)

This is the face she would make each time I would say "Yay, Emma!!!!" :)

Molly very daintly tries to pick up her food. LOL

This picture cracks me up!! Molly is like "hmm no thanks!"

She is so proud of herself for picking it up, BUT....

This is the closest she actually came to getting a yogurt melt in her mouth! LOL

Poor Little Molly didn't quite figure out she is suppose to put it in her mouth using her hand but that's okay! She will learn soon enough! I was very proud of her anyways for figuring out how to pick the pieces up. At first she would only swish them around on her tray, but once she got down to business she did a great job! :)

I am so proud of my big girls and I am amazed each day by the new things they are learning to do!

EIS and PT

For several months now, the girls have been seeing a EIS once a week,  but I always refferred to her as a PT just because it sounded easier. But in all reality she is their Early Interventionist Specialist where she has  shown me things that I can do to help the girls come to speed on their developement.

Their EIS has reffered them to a Physical Therapist who works more directly with helping their body's do the things they should be able to do by now.
Like stand flat on their feet when you are holding them, be able to go from a sitting to crawling position, those types of things...
Wanted to share all this to help you better understand these adorable pictures that follow.

Mr Ray (their PT) would sit the girls on this huge ball, and then he  would wiggle the ball causing the girls to have to balance themselves in order  to not fall. Of course he never ever lets them actually fall off the ball,  but the  goal in doing this is so that the girls will become more aware of how to catch themselves when they are sitting, so that they don't fall over.

Molly did super with this excersise, everytime Mr Ray would wiggle the ball she would catch her self with her arm and hand and not fall.

SO maybe the next time she is sitting on the floor minding her own business and Miss Emma decides to push her to take her toy, Molly will catch herself and not fall. :) And YES....this has happened!

Emma wasnt so sure of the ball at first but she eventually became okay with it :)

In the picture Mr Ray is teaching Molly how to balance on her hands and knees. As you can see, Molly was a fan of this giant ball!

I was very hesisitant about having a EIS and a PT come along and help show us what our girls "should" be doing, but at the end of the day...It doesn't hurt for them to have some extra "help" a long with Mommy and Daddy teaching them  as well. Whatever can help my girls advanced to their "actual age", I am all for it.

Everytime the girls are evaluated they always rank two months behind what their actual age is. But to me, they just seem like average little babies just doin' their own thing one step at a time.

Emma's 1st Tooth!

Tonight I discovered Emma's 1st tooth! I try to make it a habit to stick my finger in their mouths so I know if it has come thru or not and I have never felt anything until tonight!
I ran my fingers across Emma's gum and my heart skipped a beat when I felt a little pinch on the tip of my finger!
I can't believe my big girl has a tooth already! I thought for sure Molly would get her 1st tooth before Emma. When Molly was about 5 Months old I felt what I thought was a tooth breaking through, but the next day it was gone! I had never felt it since. Someone told me that sometimes they will come up then sink back in, so I thought that's what had happened but....to this day it has never returned.
I know she is next though. When I look at her gums I can see where two teeth want to break through, they just havent done so yet!

You can't actually see Emma's tooth but this is a picture of her about 5 minutes after I discovered her tooth was there.

She is pretty excited about her big girl tooth as well! I made a super big deal about it for her. Even gave her, her 1st "big girl dinner" to eat with her 1st "big girl tooth". :)

I grounded up some chicken and rice and mixed it with water for a soft consistency for her. She had a few bites, but wasn't quite sure about it.

I sure am going to miss her big toothless smiles, but I am so excited my baby girl is growing so wonderfully!

5 Months Too Long

Tonight, I was singing Molly to sleep. We were listening to Passion's CD and the song was "Here I am to Worship" and while rubbing her back and running my fingers through her hair ,I wondered if my Grandma would be proud of the kind of mom that I am.

Tomorrow will be 5 months since I was last able to wrap my arms around her and lay my head on her chest. Five Months since I told her how special she is to me, Five Months since I told her how much I love her.
Five Months, and when I think about the reality of never ever seeing her again, my heart starts beating really fast, like it is now, and tears welp up in my eyes, like they are now, and I have to talk myself into staying calm..like I am doing now.

The Circle of Life, it moves us all. And that silly Lion King song never held so much meaning to me, until the

Circle of Life, changed mine.

I experienced Life and Death all within in a matter of  a few months last year.

Last night, I was cleaning my room, and I came across an old ticket from Ripley's Believe it or Not. It was from a weekend that Rick and I spent at the beach back in August of '09. The exact date on the ticket was August 30 2009.

Finding it brought back memories for me,  because that weekend I was not feeling so up to par when it came to food. I had absolutely zero appetite, and  when we got back home, it was just 4 days later on September 3rd that same week that I found out I was pregnant.

That day was one of the happiest days of my life at that point.
At that time,I would have never guessed that the best day of my life would soon become the worst day of my life almost to the day, one year later.

September 2nd the very next year, I lost my Grandma.

I will always talk about her and try my best to keep the memories alive.
I want my girls to know of her, even though they will never get to know her.

The grieving process has to be the most challenging task a human being has to face.
Though you still have SO much to live for, it's hard because it's like trying to go on without the beat of your heart.

This Picture is so Special to me for a number of reasons,
but mainly because this is the very last night that my Grandma ever held  or saw my babies.
This is the last time I saw her, the way she was.

Grandma & Emma

At the mall with my Grandma, this was the BEST shopping day
I have ever had. We made so many memories that day.

Rick with My Grandma. He always tells me how much he misses her.
I love hearing him talk about how special she is to him.

She is a very Special Lady.

Five Months, Too Long, But it's 5 Months closer to when we will meet again!
The Beat of my Heart, My very Best Friend. I love you forever and ever.
