Dinner Disaster!

This is Molly naked in her car seat.

Welp last week after I got thrown up on in the dr's office I joked around that I am going to have to start packing me and extra pair clothes whenever we leave the house. This is not a joke anymore! I really am going to start doing this.

Last night was a complete dinner disaster! And I am at fault for this but nonetheless, it was a mess! The girls have always been so tiny that I could just change them wherever I was at in my lap. I learned the hard way that I can not do this anymore.

A friend of mine wanted to treat me to dinner last night, and it was a last minute thing so I just threw some bottles and diapers in their bag and out the door we went.

I was holding Molly when she decided to go to the bathroom. Well the second I thought she was done I decided to change her because goodness knows I did not want my child to have a blow out in public and it get everywhere. I thought changing her quickly could prevent this. So, in our own little corner of the restaurant I turn my back against everyone to where I am facing the corner of the wall and decided to just change her real quick in my lap. That was Big mistake #1. Before opening up her diaper I put a clean one underneath her just incase she decides to pee while Im wiping her. That was big mistake #2. Because, As soon as I opened up her dirty diaper I quickly realized that she had already gotten poo up her back and on her clothes! So at my attempt to clean her fast, I ended up getting the clean diaper I put underneath her...dirty. So, I had to move both diapers and grab another one out of her bag. Well, well if my little turkey didnt decide to PEE while I had NO diaper around to put on her! And guess where all that pee went??? In MY lap! At first when I felt all that warmth I started to laugh, because what else could I do? So I laughed hard! And then I decided that this SO is not funny, so in the same moment that I am laughing I begin to cry...real tears streaming down my face! I was literally a total mess! My lap is soaked in pee.

Well, I finally get her bottom clean and take her dirty clothes off to find Big mistake #3. I forgot to pack an extra pair of clothes for them!

So my little girl, went home practically naked. However, my sister in law managed to point out something very positive about her coming home naked...she says "Well atleast she still has her hairbow on!" haha

Yep, a hairbow,a diaper and socks is all she had left to wear at the end of that mess. And atleast she was nice and dry! Me on the other hand was drenched in pee. So I decided to take my pants off and go home naked too!!!.....Just kidding! :)

10 weeks?!

It seems like every time I post I start out with how I cant believe how big or how old they are now but it's true! I mean 2 and a half months old already? Really??

They had a little check up yesterday and my little turkies gained 12 ounces in one week! Emma is now 7lbs 15.5 ounces and Molly is.....8lbs 3oz!!!!

Yesterday we had to return a lot of newborn size boxes in exchange for the next size up.
I put the biggest preemie sleeper they had on them last night and quickly realized that it will be the last time they wear it or anything preemie. They were slowly out growing certain preemie things but they have now officially out grown all of them.

As if I wasnt washing their clothes enough, it looks like I will be washing them even more now because they do not have as many newborn sleepers as they did preemie.

But Im wondering how long they will even be in the newborn sizes with them gaining close to a pound a week. My little chunks.

Yesterday we went into walmart to take back those diapers and I was in a rush because I also had to try and get to the drug store before they closed in the next hour to pick up a prescription, and we were stopped 3 times before I was there even 5minutes. I feel like a celebrity whenever I am out in public with them. People stare, and whisper, and come up to us and stop us. But I really dont mind showing everyone how beautiful my girls are! :)

I believe my poor little Emma is getting sick with a cold again! I really hope it doesnt take her as long this time to get over it as it did last time. Im assuming it will only be a matter of days that Molly catches this. I hate when my poor girls are sick!

We are having a shower June 5th for them. This was scheduled to take place back in Feb. but it got post poned due to me being in the hospital. Im not expecting it to be a huge turn out because so many people have came to the hospital or our home to bring us baby gifts but it will still be a nice little get together for the ones who are able to come. Im excited about it because Molly and Emma will be the special guests so several people that havent seen them yet will get too. :)

I have come to learn to find humor in the small things that could very possibly be frustrating to me if I allowed it too. For example, when I put the girls in their carseat and they do not want to be in it, they will SCREAM until they are purple. And their cry is such a deep strong loud cry when they get really angry! Sometimes I just have to chuckle about it because when I am driving down the road and they HAVE to be in their carseat what else can I do?? As soon as you pick them up they stop crying immediately! They can be just a little demanding at times about certain things! Neither one of them like their medicine. They will either refuse to open their mouth, hold the medicine in their mouth and let it slowly drool out, or they will gag themselves until they throw it up. They are something else! :)

I have also learned that when they are restless and fussy that when I lay them on their belly and pat their butt they get comfortable really quickly and doze off to their happy place. Of course, I cant do this at night because I dont let them lay on their bellies when I am asleep. But during the day this trick has come in handy often!

They are both awake a lot more during the day now and they are very active!

Today I laid them in their bassinet next to eachother while I was in the kitchen and next thing I know I hear the scream...I can always tell when one of them is having a reflux attack by their cry...its a painful scared type cry they only get when this happens. So I run in the living room and poor little Emma is wearing Molly's throw up! And Molly was just a screaming her little head off, and Emma was just staring at her so peacefully, like..."did you really just do that to me?" lol

They are both trying to roll on their side now! They havent mastered it yet but its coming!

Here is a picture of the girls on their 10 week birthday and a picture to compare them to 4 weeks ago!

This everyone, is my sweet girl Emma in the bath

And THIS is WHY she is in the bath.

Do you see how soaking wet her little head is? That is not water.
While feeding her this morning she started grunting. Well of course I knew what that meant. She began to get fussy so I put the bottle down and went to hold her belly to my chest to help her finish her job better. Well, she was done. I put my hand against her back and next thing I know i have chunks of poo stuck to my hand. Really? So I go to her room to change her and low and behold if she doesnt decide to pee everywhere as soon as I get her bottom clean. So she now has urin all over her back and her head. No idea, how it got that far up her but it did.
So I bend down to get some clothes out of her drawer and the entire two drawers are covered in poop!!! How in the world? Well it so happens that I was wearing it and did not realize it. SO when I rubbed against the dresser, it made a mess.
This by far has been the messiest blow out yet!

Baby All Clean!!! :)

Two Peas in a Pod for Sure! :)

Today (5/23/10) I put the girls in their crib and just watched them explore. They were so cute kicking their legs and swinging their arms and touching each others faces. I just loved watching them. The pics below are the girls in action today! :)

I pray that their special bond will never be broken!

Congratulations!!

My baby sister graduated highschool tonight. I am so proud of her! I teared up several times throughout her ceremony.
I am so excited for her to be growing up and turning into such a beautiful young lady.

Emma and Molly did great throughout the entire almost 2 hour ceremony. They didnt make a sound. However, when the ceremony was over they did not want to wait an extra minute to eat! I wanted to get some good pictures of the girls with their Aunt in her cap and gown but they just werent having it. So this is what we got. :)

2 month Check up

My sweet girls are going to be 2 months old tomorrow! They had their 2 month well check up and shots today. They got their hepatitis,DPT,Polio, and one other vaccine that slipped my mind. The last time we went in, they had to draw blood from the girls and they had 2 nurses come in and draw blood from each of them at the same time. I did not like that at all because I need time to hold each baby after their being stuck and its harder to comfort them when they are both needing it at the same time. So today, before their shots I asked the nurse to just do one baby at a time, so that I can comfort them individually. And so thats what they did. They gave Molly her vaccines first, and when they were done, I loved on her while they were giving Emma her oral vaccine. Emma did not like her oral vaccine at all which did not suprise me, because even at home she gags herself when I give her medicine. Anyhow, during the oral vaccine, she vomitted. Everywhere. After her oral, I handed Molly to my grandma so that I could hold Emma's little hand while the nurse gave her, her shots. Both my girls, cried so hard. But as soon as I picked them up, they were okay. They havent seem to have any bad affects from it today. They had a low grade fever (99.3 for Molly and 100.1 for Emma) and other than that, they have seemed okay. When the Dr came in to examine them, it was a complete mess. My grandma was holding Molly and I was holding Emma, and the Dr was sitting across the room. Well Molly projectiled across the room, it splashed the Dr, got all over my grandma and covered the floor. And while Molly was vomitting out of one end, Emma was vomitting out the other. :) She was working on her diaper, while we were waiting for the Dr to come in, and when he came in he examined Emma first and it so happens that her poop was all over her back, her arm, her blanket, a complete and total mess. :) And when the Dr put that stick in her mouth to check her throat, you'll never guess what happened. Yep, another projectile incident. All over the Dr, me, and the table she was laying on.
After seeing both the girls and their projectile dilemma's he decided that the Zantac he has them on for their reflux is not working. SO he is putting them on Prevacid.
Thank goodness my grandma was with me today, because it was a messy visit for sure. I needed the extra hands to help clean the mess.

Oh the fun part of it all was their weights!
My girls have been out growing so many of their preemie outfits and starting to fit into so many of their newborn outfits that I was really anxious to see what their weights are.
Molly is now 7lbs 7oz!! And Emma is 7lbs 3oz!!! Both girls are 19 1/8 inches long!
They are growing so fast! And getting chunky in their little faces and belly! I love it!
My sweet Emma has a hernia :( which the Dr said will go away with time, and Molly has a rash on her head and face. :( He said that would also go away, and that a lot of newborns tend to get it.

After we left the Dr's office, the babies were asleep and peaceful so my grandma and I walked around the mall that was around the corner from our Dr's office. On our walk, I saw another lady strolling her twin babies around. I had to stop and talk to her. I LOVE meeting other twin moms. We share so much that not just ANY mom can relate with us to. I love meeting other new moms too, but just something about twin mom's..we have a common bond...it's like we have a world of our own. :)

SO anyways, this lady wasnt the mom, she was the grandma but it was still fun chatting, her twin granddaughters were also 2 months old. I thought my girls were getting big and close to normal size for their age until I saw these girls. I realized that my girls are far from "normal" size. They are definitley the size of a baby fresh out the oven. Which I guess would make sense considering they are just now at "40 weeks".

Anyways Avery and Emery. They were cute little things.

Speaking of CUTE, my sweet grandmother got the girls DARLING dresses. They arent matching but they are coordinating, and I SO cant wait for them to wear them.

Well Im off to bed, another busy day tomorrow. Emma gets a head ultra sound then we are going to my dad's work for a cookout. Those sweet old people love gloating over my babies and I love hearing it. :)

The girls at the end of a very long day today!
