Summer Time is Here!

This afternoon we had our 1st dip in the pool for the summer :)

My sweet ladies, ready for some fun!

Just love them!!!
and LOOK! No more brace face for meeeee :-)

Fun times with Daddy!

Emma

Molly

Love how this sweet girl has her arms tightly wrapped around her daddy's neck!
(Emma)

My Molly Bear :)

I think I officially have a big girl on my hands!
Here Emma is pointing her fingers saying "one, twooooo, freeeee!!!"

And then she jumped to her daddy, went under the water...
(see her little head on the right???)

And then as soon as she comes back up, she pushes her hair outta her eyes & is ready to go again!
It made Mommy super nervous but she was having a ball :-)))

Of Course Molly wanted in on the fun too. :)
Here she is jumping to Mommy

But she preferred to land with her head above the water, not under water :-)
And that was fine by me!! :-))

So proud of herself & ready for more!

Happy Summer Ya'll!

Our Mother's Day Celebrations

Rick had to work on actual mother's day, but over the weekend he took me to my restaurant of choice for  dinner &  I chose Friday's.
I scarfed down my dinner because I could not wait to get to that dessert!!!
I'll have you know my mouth was all watery, & my eyes so big when the waiter put this big white plate in front of me covered in chocolate & caramel syrups with a big fat oreo ice cream on it.

Kid you not, before I even got to touch it, Emma snatched it off my plate & helped her self!

She quickly realized it was making her hands sticky so she surrendered the Oreo to her sister who was repeatedly begging for it to be her turn.

Oh Molly...she had practically a whole adult size dessert handed to her and the girl ate...

And ate....

And ATE! until there was not one single bite left!!!
bahaha
I was in total disbelief. Neither Rick nor myself touched it.
She consumed the entire almost $6 oreo!!!
NOW do you see why I HIDE from her when I want to eat?????
LOL

But I truly enjoyed that dessert almost as much as she did! It made me so tickled to see her enjoy herself so much with that oreo!
And that was after she had a kids meal of spaghetti & mixed fruit!
I just don't know where she puts all this food!

In honor of Mother's Day the girls hand made cards for their Granny & Nannie
Here they are hard at work!

Emma Grace
stretching as far as she can so she doesn't get dirty! LOL
Priss pot had no idea that as soon as she was done, we were making big fat handprints!!!
Bless her heart-love her!

Molly Bear
Love how she has to hold the paint while she is painting :)

Emma HATES anything sticky or slimy on her hands so it was a pretty big girl thing she had to do when it came time to top off her cards with her hand print!!!
She was not excited about it but she toughed it out without much fight & I was so proud.

My Sweet lil Artists!!!

On Mother's Day evening, my mom, brother, sister, & Christine & her son Josh came over for dinner.
I cooked us a nice meal, & my sweet hubby baked me a red velvet cake Mother's Day morning so we had that for dessert in addition to the cheesecake Christine brought.

My mom got me 2 beautiful hanging plants for my front porch & I am  so excited about them! I am going to try so hard to not kill the things!! LOL
I think plants are beautiful, I just have the hardest time remembering to water them. :-/

She also gave me a sweet card that said how proud she is of the mom I am to her grand babies.
I needed to hear that! And it really blessed me that she said so.

Forgiveness is a very important part of any relationship & I am learning to not only forgive but also to ask for forgiveness.
I don't say this nearly enough, but I am thankful for my mom & I am blessed for the opportunity to make my relationship with her stronger .

I had a wonderful mother's day with my mom, and with the little people who call me "mom". :)
Hope you all did as well!

Happy Mother's Day!

Being a Mom these past two years, has brought more joy into my life, than I could have ever hoped or imagined.
Each Mother's Day, (this is my 3rd)  reminds me of the very 1st Mother Day I celebrated as a mom.

Mother's Day 2010

I can't believe how much my sweet girls have grown since that day. I remember feeling such pride that 1st Mother's Day morning.
Pride that after so much heartache, fear, and countless prayers, they were finally HOME.  Pride that they were beautiful. Pride that in the 3 weeks that they had been home from NICU, I had survived the sleepless nights, long days, &  the nursing! Pride that they were finally healthy.

I could go on about the numerous things I found pride in that day,( and every day)  but above all I was proud that they were MINE & proud I was their mommy!

What a beautiful thing being a mother is.
I would imagine the older your kids get, the more beauty is to be found in being a mom.
I am constantly amazed at the little girls Molly & Emma are becoming, and each stage has brought twice as much joy as the last.

Not only has being a mom brought so much joy into my life, but it has also given my life so much meaning.
Before Molly & Emma came along, I don't remember feeling like my life had any special purpose.

Today, they are the reason I live. They are my purpose. I was created to give them life, and to ensure that they have a happy one.
After they came into the world, lifeless- I can surely say they are nothing short of a miracle.
My Miracles. How Blessed I am to have been given these 2 very special gifts.

Of course,  I have hard days.
Days, I just want to lock myself in the bedroom with milk & cookies. Days that I  wish I could have just ONE vacation, that included no one but myself. :) Days that seem like they will never end.

But those days are just a drop in the bucket compared to the many days that I can't seem to get enough of my sweet girls. Days that I let them stay up way past bedtime just because I am not ready to say goodnight.  Days that I sneak into their room while they are sleeping & bring them to bed with me, just because I miss them.
Days that they make me laugh like I have never laughed before & days that they make me feel loved deeper than I ever realized I could be loved.
They are the best part of me. And they deserve the absolute best from me.
Every single day, no matter how I feel, or what else is going on in my life, I strive to be the best mommy I can be for them.
I am the only mommy they will ever have, and I want them to take pride in me, the way I take pride in them.

Mother's Day 2012

(still no camera-so cell phone shot is the best i could do!)

Happy Mother's Day to all of the wonderful women who are blessed to have their own miracles call them "mom"

And thank you Emma & Molly, for making me the happiest mommy in the world. I am so blessed to call you my own!

EdVenture

If you are from Columbia, then you know all about the Children's Museum -Edventure. :)
We had our first experience this morning.
I only got Cellphone shots because I am waiting on my new batteries to come in the mail for my camera.

I also got a few cute videos but Blogger is being a pain about letting me upload them. :-/

3 Peas in a pod, hand in hand walking into the museum

I almost died!

Daddy the weatherman

 Little chess players!
they literally knocked down every single one of these & then went & picked them back up! lol

There was way more to our time at Edventure, I just didn't have my camera on me to capture all the fun stuff we did. But the girls had a blast, & it was educational fun for sure!
I look forward to when we can go again!

This is what the girls thought about leaving Edventure....

Actually, it's just what they thought about having to sit still for a picture! LOL
They hate the camera!!!! :-(

2 Year Checkup

Molly & Emma had their 2 yr check up this morning. I was able to get a couple of cell phone shots but I couldn't get any once the Dr came in bc he did their exam with them in my lap but here is what I did get!

Molly Bear such a great sport getting her blood pressure checked!

Emma on the other hand gave this sassy look & shouted "NO!"
when we asked her if she would let the nurse check hers. :-/

Emma weighed 23lbs 2oz & is 34 & some odd inches tall.
Molly weighed 20lbs 8oz & is 33 & some odd inches tall.

Both of them were as pitiful & as dramatic as could be when it came time for their shots. :-(
I was sitting in the chair with a crying baby on each shoulder.
Those crocodile tears broke my heart!

Leaving the Dr. office hand in hand.
I love when they do this!

I took my ladies for an outdoor lunch at their favorite place as soon as we left.
Good ole' McDonalds helped ease their pain :)
