Finger Foods

We are trying to teach the girls how to pick up foods and feed themselves.  I started out by gradually introducing them to yogurt melts by Gerber. This is the only thing I truly felt comfortable letting them try to eat other than baby foods because they melt in their mouths so easily, Especially when I break the yogurt melts into smaller pieces before placing them in their mouths.

Once I felt like they were able to eat the melts I fed them and not scare me by gagging, I decided to sit them in their highchairs and let them try to eat them by themselves.

Emma, she is my little oinker. If it has to do with food, she will find a way to get it down :) Ha! So needless to say it did not take her very long to catch on to what she was suppose to be doing.

I had the best time watching her swat at each little piece of yogurt melt, while trying to grasp them between her tiny fingers and eventually shove the melts into her mouth. She is my little ham!

Emma picking up her snack like a big girl!

Yep, I know exactly how to do this!

Ha! Got it! :)

This is the face she would make each time I would say "Yay, Emma!!!!" :)

Molly very daintly tries to pick up her food. LOL

This picture cracks me up!! Molly is like "hmm no thanks!"

She is so proud of herself for picking it up, BUT....

This is the closest she actually came to getting a yogurt melt in her mouth! LOL

Poor Little Molly didn't quite figure out she is suppose to put it in her mouth using her hand but that's okay! She will learn soon enough! I was very proud of her anyways for figuring out how to pick the pieces up. At first she would only swish them around on her tray, but once she got down to business she did a great job! :)

I am so proud of my big girls and I am amazed each day by the new things they are learning to do!
