This afternoon Molly was due for another suppository and I am very nervous to give them to her myself.
I am so thankful for friends like Ms. Deborah and Jessica who are always around when I seem to need them the most.
And not just for suppository's...they do so much for our family and we feel so blessed to have them in our lives!
We Love Our Me-mez as Ms. Deborah calls herself :)
Jessica and Ms Deborah came over last night and Jessica did Molly's 1st suppository for me.
Molly pitched quite a fit when she had this done, which made me super nervous about her needing another one.
Well When it was time for her to have one today, Jessica was at work so I asked Ms. Deborah to do it for me and she did.
And I am so thankful that she did it because not only did she do it, but she also showed me a different way that it could be done to where Molly didnt cry when it was being inserted.
The suppository that she takes the Dr instructed that she take 1/4 of it,because it is an adult not a child suppository. Well, when it is cut into 4 pieces the suppository is then round. And a larger round thing being pushed into her hiney, was not very comfortable for her.
So,Ms Deborah cut her one big round piece into two, and then because a suppository is waxy, she was able to shape a tip onto the two pieces and insert them one by one more smoothley that way.
And she played and talked with Molly the entire time, and had Molly giggling which made me feel more comfortable about her needing this done.
No one likes to see their baby upset, in pain, or uncomfortable!
I am a new Mom,and sometimes things are a little bit scary and it's always nice to have someone you can lean on for support and to help make you more comfortable about doing things you aren't quite comfortable doing by yourself.
The idea of sticking something into my child's hiney made me nervous, especially after I saw how she reacted to it being done the 1st time. So, I just needed to see it done a few times so that I could feel comfortable about doing it on my own.
About 2 hours after Ms. Deborah gave Molly her suppository today, she had a messy diaper!
Which is why she is in the bathtub in that picture! :)
Now, the goal is for Molly to be able to have a normal BM without needing to strain and cry to get it out.
Her BM today, was not "normal". It was very runny, diahrea type. But, I feel like that is just due to all the laxatives, prunes, and suppository's she has had that has softened her up. Since she was able to get something out, we will lay off the suppository's until her next BM.
Hopefully her next BM will be more normal, and I am praying she can have it without needing to cry and strain! If she does then YAY maybe our problem is finally solved!
If not, then with some Jessica supervision, I just may be brave enough to try Ms. Deborah's brilliant way of giving Molly her suppository. :)
For now, I am just glad that she got SOMETHING cleaned out, having a tummy full of yucky has been awful for her. She has had zero appetite, and who can blame her?
Now maybe she will want to eat again and more often!
