Jackson's 5th Birthday

Today Molly & Emma went to their cousin Jackson's birthday party!

I unfortunately, was too busy trying to keep up with my girls that I didn't get to take any pictures, but there are a few moments about today that I would like to share.

When we 1st got there the girls were their usual "cling to mommy" selves. But it didn't take long for them to realize that running around getting into things was way more fun!

Jackson's party was at the studio where he takes Karate. So there were obstacle courses & such set up for the older kids to enjoy, & the "courses" were divided up by those big orange parking cones.

My kids however, have never really been ones to you know...go with the flow or be apart of anything that involves structure or boundaries. haha

So I say that to say, the very 1st thing they did when they finally left my lap was what??? They went after all the  big orange cones of course. Just picked them things up & ran without a care in the world. :)
(even though I say "they" Molly was definitely the instigator on this one!)

Once their Aunt Stacey told me it was fine, I was relieved & just gave up on trying to stop them.

At one point the other kids were getting ready to do a Pinata. Well, I could just see my girls running up & getting knocked in the face with that big stick, or getting trampled on by a bunch of kids excited to see candy hit the floor, so I decided to take them outside to run around & play in a field next to the studio.

I gave it a while thinking surely someone had knocked down that Pinata by now. And when we walked back in I was surprised to still see the kids taking turns to hit it with the stick! The girls 3 yr old cousin Savannah was the next one in line for a turn at the pinata and low & behold if she wasn't the one to knock it down! Yay Savannah! I was surprised out of all those big kids, she was the one that did it!
Never underestimate the power of pretty petite little girls, apparently!

So anyways, candy scattered & all the kids went every which way to scoop up the candy & toss it in their goodie bags & once it's all over I let Molly & Emma back on the floor to run around.

Well this is where I should say you should also never underestimate the intelligence of  pretty petite little girls either! Emma runs clear across the room & sneaks up behind this kid & snatches their bag of candy from them & takes off running with it!

I could not believe it! LOL My sneaky child knew there was something fancy goin on about that Pinata, & all those bags. I just had no idea she knew! :)

Happy Birthday Jackson! We know you had a wonderful time celebrating the big 5!!

PS: the best part of the entire day today, was I got my very 1st speeding ticket!!! BOO!!!
Lexington County is about to be $80 something dollars richer because of me!
