I am sad to say there wont be many pictures on this blog.
Long story short, back in June my camera wasn't working properly and so I sent it off with Geek Squad and three weeks later they returned my camera to me, STILL not fixed. I am quite annoyed to have to say, Geek Squad has my camera AGAIN, and I very much miss taking pictures of my little ones! :(
You can always view their picture albums up through their 15 months if you REALLY need a good dose of them though! :)
Anyways, here are the details!
My Pretty Little Emma Grace!
At 16 Months, you are 19 lbs 4oz! SO very close to that 20lb mark!! You will soon legally be able to finally face forward in your carseat! But of course, we don't want Molly to be left behind so you will have to wait on her to catch up! :)
You are becoming more and more of a Mommy's Girl! You love to sit in my lap and play, sit in my lap to watch TV, sit in my lap so Molly can't sit in my lap, haha, and you love to hold my hand every where you go.
And if you aren't in my lap, you love to be next to me. You are generally my busy body, but lately, something has gotten in to you and you just want to be whereever I am! And I am not complaining. I miss my little Gracie being so itty bitty, so I am treasuring every moment that's left of having you be my baby girl!
You continue to impress me with how smart you are! Though you really aren't saying many words right now, I know that you understand every word I say!
The other day you and I were in the living room, and Molly was throwing a tantrum about something in the hallway, and when I told you Sissy was sad, and to go give her love, you went trotting down to the hall and gave her a hug AND a kiss.
When Mommy ask you where your nose is you either point to your nose, or grab my nose! You let out an extra giggle when Mommy says "honk honk" while you are holding my nose.
You have recently learned to point to your eyes when Mommy ask you where your eyes are! This makes me so proud! I get so excited when I see that you have caught on to the little things I try to teach you!
On the 4th of July...I FINALLY heard you say "Ma-Ma"
My word! I thought I would never hear you say it! You said thank you, before you said Ma-Ma...really Emma?! :-)
You are in a squealing phase! You squeal to get my attention. You squeal for your cup, your food, for me to hold you, for toys that you want that Molly may have..you just squeal! I know you only do this because you don't know how to use your words yet, but we are working on that too!
You still go to your crib and pull out your blankie and walk around holding it whenever you get sleepy.
You are still a climber!
Here is a cute little story about how silly you are!
Mommy caught you doing this, on top of a box of wipes!
You are just a giggling away until Mommy told you to get down.
And When I told you to get down, you would do this!
haha! You silly girl! You got "down" as far as you could withOUT taking your feet off the box!
Little stinker! I just love you!
You are eating much better than you have been.
You love yams, you are so-so on the peas, love chicken, and love love spaghetti! And Oatmeal pies, and Pudding are your new favorite snacks right now.
I normally fix you for dinner whatever we are having and usually you eat ok, although you can be pretty picky! You definitley have your favorites!
As a rule you (and molly too) only get one cup of juice a day, normally given to you after lunch or if you have been outside playing. Otherwise, you are still drinking your formula. My first plan was to keep you on it until you were 12 months "adjusted age" which would put you at 14 months literal age. But...with you teething and not having the greatest appetite and already being so tiny for your age I just haven't felt confident enough in your nutritional intake to take you off your formula.
And you don't seem to complain about having to be on it :) SO what's it hurting? I have tried to give you whole milk in the past, and you just didn't care for it. So in the near future, I am sure we will try again. But until then, I refuse to have a juice baby when your formula is so much healthier for you! :)
Whenever you get upset about something, you throw a little tantrum although you have made big changes in this area! You don't throw tantrums near as often as you used too! And before you would get upset, you would just throw yourself down on the floor and not even pay attention to what you could be landing on...and well I guess you learned that lesson a few too many times because now when you go to throw a tantrum...you carefully sit down, and sloooowly lay yourself down on your back...and THEN you start crying! Haha Little Booger, you have the whole tantrum planned out before you even start throwing it! :)
Often times Daddy & I will just look at eachother and shake our heads in awe at how much of a "big girl" you are becoming! I definitley see more toddler in you and less baby!
You are walking so well, you never really teeter-tottered much. As soon you took your first steps it seems you just excelled so quickly with knowing how to walk! You even run now, and you are soooo cute doing it!
You love playing in pool water or bath water! You are cute as pie sitting in the water trying to put your face in it! You slooowly lean over and place your face down in the water and then you pop up really quick with a huge grin on your face!
Emma Grace, you are my special baby girl and I miss you when you are asleep, can't get enough of you when you are awake, and just have the time of my life being your Mommy! You are so very special to me, and I promise to tell you that, every day of my life! I love you Baby Girl! Happy 16 Months!
My Sweet Molly Bear,
At 16 Months you are 17lbs 4oz!!
You are finally gaining some weight! No suprise considering how you eat SO much food! You eat way more than Emma does for sure! And you aren't all that picky about what you eat!
Mommy has stopped feeding you in your hairchair because every time I go to feed you girls in your chairs it is like playing Wac-a-Mole! As soon as one sits down the other one pops right up and this is back and forth constant throughout your meal! One time you stood up and I turned my head to give Emma her next bite, and it happend just that fast...Mommy was unable to catch you before you hit the floor.
It was a very scary moment for me, and a very painful moment for you. You bruised your face right up, and it broke my heart! So now, I just sit in the floor to feed you and you two are like vulchers under attack, can't get you your next bite fast enough :-)
YOU make the CUTEST sound when you are excited about seeing your food or sippy cup come near you! It sounds something like "huuuuuh huuuuh" as you are bouncing up and down!
And whenever you wake up from bedtime or naptime, when you hear your bedroom door open you gasp and even make the "gasp face" where your mouth is in the shape of an "O" and you quickly turn to look at Emma to make sure she sees me or Daddy standing there and once you know that Emma sees us too...you start grinning ear to ear bouncing up and down!
Seeing how excited you girls get when we come in the room to get you out of your cribs, is absolutely one of the biggest highlight of my day!
You are still in physical therapy twice a week, and I have seen drastic changes in your ability to use your legs! They are getting so much stronger! Your right leg, imparticular. I see you sit in ways, you used to not be able to sit and you are standing much better now on your right foot! You don't lean to the left as much as you used to, and you don't curl your toes as often as you used to either! You have become much more comfortable with standing with your feet flat on the ground instead of turning your right foot to the side or instead of using those tip toes!
Your muscles in your right leg are still pretty stiff, and your legs are pretty shaky when you try to stand without holding on BUT the good news in that is that you are now actually trying to stand without holding on!
The first time I saw you do this was Aug 3, 2011! I had never seen you even attempt to stand independently and I thought I was going to come out of my skin, I was so full of excitement when I saw you do this!
I was sitting next to you as You were sitting on the edge of your Rocking Elmo and you carefully stood up, and when I saw you standing there...I reached out my arms and told you to "come to mommy" and with the absolute biggest smile on your face...for the 1st time EVER...you put one foot in front of the other without holding on to anything!
After that very 1st step, you fell down, but you were SO proud of your self! You got so excited as Mommy was excited and you started clapping with me!
You KNEW you did something big!
This is about an hour prior to your 1st step!
(Let me just say that this wasn't just a baby's first step! But it was an answer to prayer! Not that I am worried because she doesn't walk yet, I have just been worried about her ability to use her right leg, and we had a pretty rough Dr Appt in regards to her legs, a few days prior to seeing her do that, so I have been worrying my head off. And to see her be able to do this, felt like God was saying "Peace be Still" and I have not been anxious one time since! )
Molly you are improving in so many areas, I just can't even begin to say how proud I am of you. To see you take that first step meant the world to me. And I look forward to seeing you take many more!
Though you are not walking yet, it hasn't slowed you down from keeping up with your sister! The two of you are nearly inseperable! Always loving on eachother, playing with eachother, laughing at eachother, talking to each other. It brings me so much joy, to see the special bond that you two share! I pray that the friendship you have now, will always remain!
You also know where your nose and eyes are when mommy ask you. You are still a cuddly bug! You love on just about anyone! But you especially love to love on Mommy :)
My Little Molly,
You are Mommy's special little girl and I love you more than I could ever let you know. You make mommy so proud with how determined you are. It is my prayer for you that determined will forever be a part of who you are! Happy 16 Months Baby Girl!
