10 Months Old

 10 Months Old!!!

Ok excuse me while I shed some tears here!

I am just in awe, that my sweet itty bitty baby girls that I just brought home from the hospital YESTERDAY....are already TWO months shy from celebrating their 1st birthday!!!

It's like I closed my eyes for just ONE night to get some rest, and BOOM there they are...big girls now.

Ah, how time certainly does pass us by, way too quickly.

Here are some new facts about my darlings....

Sweet Emma Grace,

At 10 Months old you are in the 5th-10th percentile for your weight.
You are 16lbs 6 1/2 oz!
You are 26 and 7/8 inches long
Your Head Circumference-  17 1/2 in

You are a very determined little girl. I am so proud of the advancements you are making all on your own. When Mommy puts you down on your play mat you can sit up for hours all by yourself and not fall over. Infact, last month when you were all tired of sitting you would just fall straight back and then cry because you hit your head. But now, you have figured out how to let mommy or daddy know that you are all done sitting. You usually, tell us with a whine. :)
However, you have not yet learned to go from laying to sitting all by yourself, but you are very close to being able to do this.

I love watching you discover your toys and all the things they can do. You have this play kitchen that your Aunt Stacey got you for Christmas and I have to admit this is your favorite Christmas Present. When you first got it, you weren't so sure about all that it could do. But now, you have learned to pull the faucet to hear it sing, you know how to turn the clock to hear it talk, and the thing I was most excited about you learning to do was open and shut the oven door. I was very proud about this because opening and shutting the door all on your own takes way more effort than just touching it to hear it sing. You are also opening and shutting the  fridge part too. You always give us a good laugh when you pick up the whole kitchen set and try to put it in your mouth. The kitchen is so big, and you are so small you usually end up falling straight back trying to lift it, But you are so focused on trying to get it in your mouth that you dont even realize you have fallen.
You really had mommy and daddy cracking up 2 nights ago, because Daddy was on the floor playing with you and everytime he would open the oven door, you would lean over and shut it. This went on for several minutes, over and over again.

Which also shows, that you are learning to mimick!

You are no longer just rolling to get around. You have learned to use your arms and scoot!
You are also pulling yourself up on your knees more and more and then rocking back and forth. I know that you are preparing yourself to learn how to crawl!

Here you are on your hands and knees!

You are so sweet and snuggly. You love to be held and cuddled but you also play very well independently. Although, you are going through this phase that if I (or whoever the only adult in the room is) walk away you start whining! But it isnt long before you forget that you were upset and you go back to playing.

You eat like a champ! You love all fruits and vegetables and you love feeding yourself your own bottle now! You do not want mommy or daddy helping you anymore with your bottles! Everytime you see one of us walking near you with a bottle you start kicking your arms and legs and smiling really big while making this snorting sound. It is so funny to us, but its true. My little piggie snorts like a pig and moves like a frog ;)

Infact, everytime you get excited you do the froggy dance! And the piggie snort!

You also love to take your sister's paci out of her mouth and stick it in your own!
And whatever toys that she is playing with that you want, you just help your self!

When it is bedtime or naptime you do great about being put down. Mommy can hand you your paci and a blanket and you will go right to sleep.

Mommy doesn't mind letting you sleep with blankets when I am awake because I can check on you and you have always loved since you were very tiny, to hold on to something when you are asleep.

Mommy says "Ma-ma-ma" to you all day long and somehow, you learned "Da-da-da" from that! You will be sitting on the floor playing with your toys and talking in your little baby language and all of a sudden you will bust out with " Da-da-da-da".

Im not sure if this is to count as your first word because I do not believe that you are associating what you are saying with who Daddy is. But, I have been told that I am wrong for thiking this way. :)
And I am not being parital against it being daddy and not mommy. I say this because for a long time and even now sometimes when someone picks you up, you will get tickled and do your froggy dance and smile really big and say what sounds like "Hey"

I never counted that as your 1st word either because I feel like its just that you have discovered your tongue and all the sounds it can make, and you go on and on for a long time in that baby language of yours and so its not hard to hear you say little things that could be put together as words. But until you know how to consciously say "Hey" "Dada" or even "Mama", I don't know that it could count as your 1st word?

I dont know! Maybe it does count as your 1st words and I am just in denial that you know what you are saying because I am in denial that you are almost a year old!

Precious Girl, slow yourself down! Mommy is not ready for big girls. I love you so much, and  I want to keep you my baby baby for much longer!

Dear Sweet Molly,

At 10 Months Old you are in the 5th Percentile for your weight.
You are 14lbs 14 1/2 oz. Almost 15 pounds! :)
You are 27 1/2 inches long
Your Head Circumference- 16 3/4 inches

You have grown and changed so much over these past 10 months but you have especially done a lot of changing in these past few weeks.

You are such a happy happy girl. You are so giggly and you when you get really excited you let out this really loud squeal while you are smiling so big, and kicking your feet and arching your back.

Your favorite Christmas present is your jumparoo that Mommy and Daddy got you.
We got you this because when you are in your stationery exercauser you bang yourself back and forth expecting to get somewhere...

So in your jumparoo you can bang and bang all you want and everytime you jump in it the slings on your jumparoo allow you to go "weeeee" with it, swinging you back and forth and you love it!

You can be sitting still in your jumparoo just playing with the toys and if Mommy starts clapping and saying "yay molly" you get that big grin on your face and off you go. Arching your back, with one arm in the air swinging it around in circles as if you are riding a bull....Jumping up and down, swinging back and forth with all your might, and this is the funniest thing to mommy. It is by far one of my favorite things that you do right now. And you even have your sister Emma doing it too!

You are a love bug. You love to be snuggled but you also play very well by yourself and with your sister. Mommy enjoys watching you discover all of your toys. You too love the kitchen but you especially love your elephant that daddy got you that pops out balls when you turn his ear. I love watching you try to grab the balls as they are popping out of his trunk.

Everything is going in your mouth right now. You have been teething for quite sometime but these past few weeks have really been hard for you. You are very clingy and whiny at times right now but I know that this isnt your personality. It is only because you arent feeling very well.

You are sitting independently now, but you will not sit as long as Emma does. So if I have to walk away I usually be sure to put your boppy pillow behind you. You tend to have a little lazy streak in you. I know that you can sit for a long time because I have seen you do it. But  You much rather lay on your belly or back and have toys in your mouth then have to sit up and play with them.
If you are in your bouncy sit or laying on your boppy pillow, you know how to use your arms to pull yourself up to a sitting posistion.
Last night, you held your bottle and fed yourself for the first time. Mommy was very proud of you! You are catching on how to do new things and this makes mommy very exicted to see you advance and do so well.

You are no longer just rolling, you are using your hands to scoot yourself around. I haven't seen you try to crawl yet but I am sure you will not be too far behind your sister with this.

I got SO happy the other day when I saw you waive bye bye! I am having a brain cramp on where we were but I remember holding you and we were telling someone bye and you opened and closed your little fist when I looked at you and said " tell her bye bye"

At first I thought nooooo way, but when I said tell her bye bye again, you did it again! Gooooosh! My big girl is getting so smart on me!

When you are upset and crying you say very clearly "ma"
I cant say that you are saying Ma-ma while consciously asking for me BUT I am almost convinced that its true. Because when you are on the floor babbling in your baby language you never say anything that sounds like ma-ma but everytime you cry and get upset you do say "ma"

So hmmmm,??? I am not sure what to say about this. Maybe in a few weeks it will become more clear to me what your motives are. :)

Maybe Mommy and Daddy will get lucky and have one of you knowingly say Da-da and one of you say Ma-ma first! :)

One of your obsessions is my cell phone! You love playing with it and you do not like it when I take it from you. You are so darn cute slobbering all over my phone that its hard for me to tell you no.

Speaking of no, you know how to tell mommy and daddy "no" when you are unhappy about something. It goes something like you shaking your head 90mph in the no posistion while kicking your feet and squealing.

It  humors me when you shake your head no. This is not something
that I have seen your sister do.

Emma is the Screamer and You are a Squealer! Happy, excited, or mad....you squeal. It's just one more of those characteristics that  make you, who you are.

Mommy caught you squealing in action :)

Happy Ten Months Sweet Baby Girl.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much and you continue to blow us away with all that you are learning to do!

My baby girls to me...are the best in the world...they are loveable, sweet, FUN, and FUNNY, and so giggly! I just have the best best time being their mommy!
