I can not believe that in 3 short months, my beautiful little girls will be celebrating their very first birthday!
It does not seem like it has been almost a year and a half since I found out I was pregnant!
2 days before the girls 9 month birthday they weighed as follows:
Emma- 15lbs 8.8oz
Molly-14lbs 5.5oz
Every day I am more and more amazed by how wonderful these girls are. I have never once had a day where I felt I wanted a break from them.
There have been times I may have needed a break...lol...but I never really want to be away from them. They are my pride and joy!
Lets see, what are some new things I can share with you?
They have been roly poly's for a couple months now, but now they have discovered their ability to roll also aids them in their ability to get into things!
They LOVE getting up to the TV stand and pulling down all of Daddy's toys.
It is so hard for me to tell them No when they do this, cause they are just so darn cute doing it! LOL
However, daddy has NO Problemo telling them to get outta there! haha
They also love to scoot themselves up under their bouncy seats. Lol I am not sure why they do this because once they are under there they get mad cause they dont know how to get out. lol
They also have this portable swing that sits on the floor kinda like the bouncy set does and the girls love to scoot up to it and push it back and forth and watch it swing. They have also figured out how to scoot underneath this and get stuck too! lol
A couple times they have discovered that there is life outside of our living room where we spend most of our time. They have rolled to the kitchen, the hallway, and behind the couch! :)
They can pick up their big heavy toys off the floor now (singing ball, singing turtle, etc..) and hold it in their hands and play with it.
They are having such a good time discovering all of their musical fun toys. They are just at that age where toys actually mean something to them! For this reason, I am very excited about what Christmas has in store for them! They are going to have such a wider variety of toys to play with now!
The girls love to hold the spoon when it is time to eat. Sometimes they make their mouth other times they make a mess instead, haha
Speaking of mouths, Emma has discovered her vocal cords. She loves to listen to her self scream different types of high pitched tunes when she is playing on the floor.
It is the cutest thing to me, to listen to her make different types of sounds!
She also loves to scrunch up hers nose, pucker up her lips and blow! She loves doing this with her mouth! I have seen Molly do it a couple times but Emma does it often.
The girls are already fighting over toys. They will sit there and go back and forth playing tug a war with eachother. It seems whatever toy one has the other wants. And as long as there are no tears involved, I let them work it out on their own. But when one starts crying cause her feelings are hurt, mommy has to step in lol
Emma cracks me up when it is time to eat. She can be playing and perfectly happy, and if Molly is fussing I will make a bottle to feed her 1st. If Emma happens to glance up and see the bottle in my hand, she will get real excited and kick her arms and feet but if that bottle goes into any other mouth besides her she starts pitching a fit! Crying real tears! The girl is for real, when it is time to eat! She doesnt miss a meal! :)
Both girls are learning how to throw tantrums, and usually they do this when it is time to change their clothes or diaper. They do not want to lay there with patience, they want mommy to hurry so they make lots of movement and lots of noise to ensure that I do NOT take my time. :)
They are getting a little too heavy for mommy in their carseats. I am thinking in the next couple months we will be upgrading to big girl carseats. I am not sure what I will do when I do not have the convenience of taking them in and out of places using their carseats. All I can say is, if they dont start sitting up on their own pretty soon it is going to make life a little diffifult for me! If they cant use their carseats in the store, and they cant sit up on their own for me to stick one in the buggy whatever will I do?
I am trying to be patient with the not sitting up thing. I know they will do it in their own time. I am just anxious to know that they can do it. Kids their age seem to be doing so much more, and every mom wants their child to be just as advanced as the next child is. I keep reminding myself that my girls didnt get to bake as long as other kids their age did.
They can sit independently for a few seconds, and Emma can actually go a couple minutes. They just cant do it long and they cant get into sitting position on their own. Hopefully it wont be much longer and they will have this mastered too.
Molly is finally starting to catch up with Emma as far as her hair goes! I am excited about this! The more hair the better! :)
For me my proud mommy moments are when the girls are laying on the floor looking eachother in the eyes and taking turns laughing back and forth. I love to see them enjoy eachother. I pray that they will always be the best of friends!
The girls have recently learned to reach for you when they want you. They dont do this everytime you go to pick them up, (my theory is cause they know they dont have too..ha)but there are times where they will put their arms out reaching for you. And it melts my heart everytime!
One thing about my girls that hasnt changed is their big ole smiles! They light up a room everywhere we go and when we are in the store they draw so much attention to themselves by grinning ear to ear at all the old people that stop to tell them how pretty they are!
They are also becoming very observant. If there is a lot going on in the room, they love to just watch and stare.
When the girls were just a couple weeks old Rick started calling Emma by her middle name..well sorta...he calls her Gracie. And over the past 9 months it just kinda stuck. Almost everytime we are talking to her we mainly say Gracie or sometimes
Emma Grace. But when we are talking about her to someone we just say Emma. She's the girl of many names, haha and she will look when you call her by any of them.
Molly is just Molly :) Sometimes Mollard or Molly Polly haha when we are having fun with her but we do just refer to her as Molly. But there is nothing "just" about it. Molly is a very special name to me, so I am proud to call her that!
In the next few days I will be creating the girls 9 month picture album. So you can be sure to stay up to date with them there. You know, as long as there is a breath in me I will have plenty of pictures of my girls to share! I am one proud momma!
Have a good week everyone!
