Emma Grace at 19 Weeks
Molly Ann @ 19 Weeks
My Big Girls are just growing too fast! As you can see they are very happy babies. Always smiling, always laughing. Their new favorite thing to do is coo. They have the sweetest little baby voice. They both keep their hands in their mouth and are beginning to drool which probably means the teething stage is surely around the corner.
They love to roll to their side when it is time to sleep. Molly likes to sleep with her arms stretched above her head and Emma loves to sleep with her hand on her face or either her arm across her face.
I am really struggling with what to do about this bed time thing. I thought placing them in two different bassinets to sleep would solve the problem I seem to be having with worried about their safety during the night, but it hasnt.
When they slept together, they always seemed to roll into eachother because the pack and play is elevated to help with their refulx so it made sliding into eachother a lot easier. So I placed one in the pack and play and the other in the bassinet but the bassinet isnt as wide as the pack and play. This morning I woke up about 5am to check on the girls and Molly had her face pressed against the side of the bassinet. I seriously almost died right there. I mean holy cow, all of the what if's went through my mind. So No more bassinet over night.
My very last option of being able to keep them in my room at night is now going back to the pack and play but not having it elevated. That way they dont collide into one another. Granted they can roll tummy to back, they havent mastered the back to tummy, so I dont have to worry about them * i hope* winding up on top of eachother with the bed laying flat.
I am just going to have to test it out through out their naps today and see if it will work.
I am just going to have to sit them up for a while in their bouncy seats after their bedtime bottle, before putting them to bed at night, so that maybe their reflux wont bother them.
Wish us luck, because I really am not ready for them to be in their room at night. But I want them to be safe, so if it turns out that this pack and play isnt going to work after all, then the cribs it will be and I will just have to deal with it. :-(
Any other twin moms want to email me, and tell me how old their babies were before they went to their rooms, and what kind of sleeping arrangements you had for them up until that point??
Suggestions would be great!
Thanks!
